TRANQUILLITY ESTATE | FARM & WINERY

LOCATION: MIDDLEBURY, CT
SIZE:  +/- 30,000 SF

At Tranquillity Farm, long gone are the days of Fredrick Law Olmstead and his legacy of apprentices, specifically Charles Eliot and Warren H. Manning, however, thanks to those who understand the importance of preserving history and how nature can positively affect the lives of all those that are around it, Tranquillity Estate – the former Whittemore Family farm and summer home complex, has found a new life and future. TPD Architecture is fortunate to be working with the Yimoyines family to resurrect Tranquillity Farm back to life by transforming it into a fully functioning winery and hospitality venue.

The estate will host a vineyard, produce farm, winery, visitor’s center, grand event spaces and luxury bed & breakfast accommodations within the original 1890’s McKim Mead & White designed Barn, Garage and Farmhouse, as well as the 1920’s Napier designed romantic stone-clad Creamery Building. The Estate will also be host to some amazing off-site venues that will features its wines and farm produce.
